Absurdity Ate My Eloquence.

My mother taught me to be eloquent
in the way I speak and write.
My father taught me to be defiant
in different aspects of life.

I went out into the world.
It hurt me.
Whipped my back; left on my skin, slashes.

My manner of speaking and writing became absurd,
and I let people plant on me, bruises.
